The WEA Special Ed Bootcamp offers parents and caregivers opportunities to learn about their due process rights, evaluation procedures, and the required elements of the IEP. A limited number of parent scholarships are available. Click the link for details and registration information.
Bootcamps offer five days of training, including Special Education Law and IEP (for elementary or secondary level), plus a choice of up to two optional sessions: Autism Awareness, Behavior, Effective Instruction/Brain Research, Response to Intervention, and Universal Design for Learning. There are many opportunities to ask questions and gather the information necessary to be an active participant in your child's education.
For your convenience, the Bootcamps are scheduled in three locations across the state:
- July 11-15, Federal Way (WEA Headquarters)
- July 25-29, Lake Chelan (Campbell’s Resort)
- August 15-19, Vancouver (Vancouver Hilton)
